The Gauteng Department of Health invites interested candidates to apply for two Human Resources Clerk posts available at the Masakhane Laundry and Cook and Freeze Facility in Pretoria.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Exposure in Human Resource Management will be an added advantage.
  • PERSAL Certificate will be an added advantage.
  • Priority will be given to EPWP/Interns.
  • Knowledge of the Public Service Act and Regulations, Skills Development Act, PFMA, Labour Relations Act, PMDS, PSCBC Resolutions, etc.
  • Ability to communicate well with people at different levels and from different backgrounds.
  • Sound organization skills.
  • High level of reliability.
  • Ability to handle information confidentially.
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to act with tact and discretion.
  • Good telephone etiquette.
  • Good interpersonal skills and document management skills.
  • Must have office administration competency.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to take initiative.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Ability to organize and plan.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Knowledge and application of the Batho Pele Principles.

Duties:

  • Implement and administer Human Resource Administration practices, including conditions of service (leave, housing, medical aid, service termination, long service recognition, transfers, pension, and other allowances).
  • Capturing of leave and conducting leave audits.
  • Capturing overtime, nightshift, standby, etc.
  • Knowledge of grievance and disciplinary procedures.
  • Coordination of various HR meetings.
  • Basic knowledge of skills development and coordination of training matters.
  • Basic knowledge of Policy and Procedure on Incapacity Leave and Ill-Health Retirement (PILIR).
  • Conduct various HR workshops.
  • Coordinate PMDS matters, including monitoring compliance.
  • Control attendance registers of all staff in the institution.
  • Render effective filing and record management services to the institution.
  • Operate office machines in relation to the registry function.
  • Perform retrieval and disposal of records accordingly.
  • Handle postage (incoming and outgoing).
  • Relieve in other sections within registry.
  • Conduct physical verification of staff.
  • Manage all AG matters.
  • Perform other lawful duties as delegated by the supervisor.
