About the Job:
The CSIR has two internship opportunities for End User Support in the ICT Services Centre. The incumbents will provide first-line and second-line support to end-users within the CSIR. These positions are based in Pretoria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, configure, and support end-point devices: Inclusive of the necessary user support required.
- Debugging and functionality checks: Perform the necessary debugging on all equipment to ensure proper functionality and assist with all projects involving end-user support.
- Network and telephony service support: Perform basic support, installations, configurations, and general user advice where required.
- Troubleshooting: Assist with software and hardware troubleshooting.
- Desktop management: Assist with maintenance and roll-out mechanisms.
- Printer support: Provide support on both network and stand-alone printers.
- Ensure desktop functionality: Ensure desktop functionality is available and accessible at all times to CSIR end-users.
- Quality service provision: Ensure quality service is provided to clients.
- Support Microsoft OS and Applications: Provide comprehensive support for Microsoft operating systems and applications.
- Audio and Visual support: Provide audio and visual support for the boardrooms.
- Service Desk call management: Assist with Service Desk call management, first line support, call logging, and call resolution.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Education: A National Diploma in Information Technology or a similar qualification.
- Certifications (optional):
- A+ certificate
- N+ certificate
- MCSE or similar Microsoft certificate would be an advantage.
- Skills:
- Basic computer knowledge
- Customer relations skills
- Stress management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to handle difficult customers
- Ability to take initiative.
