Requirements:

  • NQF Level 3 or Grade 11 or equivalent qualification.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Laundry Worker or related experience in a laundry hospital or factory setting.
  • Knowledge of handling laundry industrial machine operator equipment.
  • Understanding of working procedures in a laundry industrial machine operator environment.
  • Skills: Planning and Organizing, Basic numeracy, literacy, good communication, sound human relations, ability to perform routine tasks, and basic interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to liaise with stakeholders.
  • Preparedness to work under pressure and in a team.
  • Willingness to rotate and work shifts.
  • Preparedness to perform physical labor (Heavy duty).
  • Legal requirement to wear protective clothing.

Duties:

  • Ensure the correct water level, air pressure, and steam supply before operating the Tunnel Machine.
  • Clean tumble dryers and surrounding areas.
  • Load and monitor the conveyor belt.
  • Load soiled linen.
  • Maintain loading scale.
  • Monitor clean linen release from dryers and deliver to the next working point.
  • Unblock tunnel washer.
  • Be responsible for all allocated resources.
  • Constant supervision of the performance of pumps, supplying detergents and liquid soap to the tunnel washer.
  • Complete work orders and report any disturbance or malfunction of the tunnel machine.
