The Department of Health seeks a qualified Security Officer to join our team at Tara The H. Moross Centre in Sandton.

 

In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of staff, patients, visitors, and property.

Responsibilities

  • Safeguard state assets, vehicles, employees, patients, contractors, and visitors.
  • Monitor and control the movement of patients and visitors.
  • Escort staff members, visitors, and patients as needed.
  • Report all incidents and security breaches in the Occurrence Book.
  • Conduct searches of people and vehicles.
  • Enforce departmental policies.
  • Assist nursing staff in managing aggressive patients (when required).
  • Manage hospital security aids.
  • Monitor CCTV surveillance cameras.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies in the hospital.

 

Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification;
  • Security Grade A / B;
  • 3-5-years’ experience in the security and safety field.
  • Registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) with a valid PSIRA certificate.
  • Computer literacy and CCTV experience in a control room environment (advantageous).
  • Knowledge of the Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act No. 53 of 1985, PSIRA Act 56 of 2001, and Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS).
  • Ability to work shifts and under pressure.
  • Valid Driver’s License

 

Salary

A competitive salary of R 216 417.00 per annum (excluding benefits).
