Position Summary

The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development is seeking dedicated and vigilant Security Officers to join the National Office in Pretoria. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by providing access control and monitoring premises, ensuring the safety of employees, and enforcing security policies.

Salary

  • R155,148 – R182,757 per annum
  • The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance agreement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage access control at entry points.
  • Enhance building or premises safety.
  • Prevent unauthorized items from entering or leaving the premises.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras to ensure continuous security coverage.
  • Register staff on the biometric system.
  • Provide access for staff on weekends as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12
  • Professional Certification: PSIRA Grade C certification

Knowledge:

  • Physical security procedures and processes
  • Safety and security legislative frameworks

Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong verbal and written communication
    • Problem-solving abilities
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Planning and organizational skills
    • Computer literacy
    • Ability to operate security equipment
    • Understanding of confidentiality in a government setting
