About the Human Settlement Internship Programme 2024

The Department of Human Settlements provides internship opportunities for unemployed South African graduates interested in fields aligned with the department’s core business.

Applicants should not have participated in any internship programs before or currently be pursuing a qualification.

Fields of Study

Internships are available for the following fields of study:

1. Civil Engineering, Ref No: 0001
2. Building Engineering, Ref No: 0002
3. Construction Management, Ref No: 0003
4. Town Planning,  Ref No: 0004
5. Architecture, Ref No: 0005
6. Architectural Technology, Ref No: 0006
7. Supply Chain Management, Ref No: 0007
8. Geographical Information System, Ref No: 0008
9. Finance Management related studies,  Ref No: 0009
10. Human Resource Management, Ref No: 0010
11. Policy & Research related studies, Ref No: 0011

Stipend

An amount of R6 175.00 per month will be paid

Location

Gauteng, South Africa (various offices of the Department of Human Settlements

Duration

24 months

Criteria

•  Applicants must have completed a tertiary qualification at National Diploma and Degree levels in any of the fields mentioned above
• They must be between the ages of 18 and 35 and be South African citizens.

Please note

• Shortlisted candidates will undergo interviews to determine their suitability.
• Successful candidates will be required to sign a 24-month Internship Programme contract with the Department of Human Settlements.

• Certified copies of Grade 12/Matric certificate and highest qualification.
