The purpose of a Warehouse Agent is to perform an array of general warehouse duties such as receiving stock, replenishing stock, counting stock, physically moving stock to and from different areas in the warehouse, and dispatching stock.

Job Objectives:

 

Receiving Stock and Short Pick:

  • Verify offloaded stock on the pallets by comparing the stock with the invoice.
  • Pick short-picked orders and marry them to the rest of the outstanding order.

Stock Counting and Replenishment:

  • Assist with inventory cycle counting by confirming that stock is in the correct location and physically count the stock or the boxes.
  • Move stock between staging areas, replenishment areas, packing, and dispatch.

Conveying Handling:

  • Scan boxes in the staging area to identify their final destination.
  • Scan the relevant destination code on the conveyor and load the box onto the conveyor.
  • On the other side of the conveyor, scan the box and identify which waiting shelf it should be stored on.
  • Move the box from the conveyor to the storing shelf.

Dispatch and Customer Courier Collection:

  • Scan orders and identify which dispatch cage and location stock needs to be stored in.
  • Take stock to the relevant location, scan the location to verify that it is the correct location, and place stock on the shelf.
  • Receive notification to retrieve orders from the dispatch cage.
  • Take orders to the customer collection area.

Health and Safety:

  • Responsible for ensuring that health and safety policies are adhered to.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • NQF 3 – Grade 11 (Essential)
  • NQF 4 – Matric or equivalent (Desirable)
  • 6 months to 1-year experience as a General Warehouse Worker in a warehouse scanner environment.
